Good evening my dear audience,

a few of you have voted to read more stories in English. So your wish is my command. 🙂

A couple of weeks ago my boss Joe had his 60th Birthday. He didn’t really plan anything and because he had a few personal family issues, I thought a surprise Birthday party might be just the right thing to cheer him up. Soooo, my colleagues and I took it into our hands to throw a nice party in our office. We sent secret emails to all our clients and invited them in to surprise Joe and drink one or two glasses of bubbly wine. 🙂

I’ve ordered yummy finger food from our favourite French bakery, Chez-Jean Claude. The traditional Australian sausage rolls, spinach rolls, small pizzas and of course, mini-pretzels.
So we quickly decorated the office the night before and then everything was ready for the clients.

But what is the one thing that every good Birthday party needs? Exactly!! The Birthday Cake!!! So I arranged with one of our clients, who is a baker (what a coincidence!!), to deliver a special cake for Joe! Wow and by special, I really mean special. Check this out:

And yes, for everyone who asks, this is a real cake. You can really eat everything you see. Chocolate mudcake inside and lots of sugar on the outside. Deliciouuuuus!!

As a Birthday present, we bought him a Shirt from the Fremantle Dockers , our local footy club, with a big 60 on the back! 🙂
So you can imagine, it was a huge surprise to Joe and he really enjoyed the day and the talks with his clients.
He might have had more than one glass of Champagne, but hey, you only get 60 once, right??

So cheers to the after 60 stage! I know a few of you have experience!! 🙂
